Mark Hallion

Mark started his Showjumping career at the age of 12 and not long after, started competing at top level junior shows. He progressed from ponies to horses whilst training with leading International rider Freddie Welch. Following two very successful years of competition, Mark was a finalist at the Young Riders Championship of Great Britain which led to International success that would equip him for the future.

Mark opened his first yard in Hampshire at only 18 year of age and his passion for horses has continued ever since. As well as Showjumping, Mark has competed in Eventing, competing for Marjorie Hance, the former president of the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale). Marjorie’s connections enabled Mark access to top trainers such as Lucinda Green and Dick Stilwell which gave him invaluable experience in the disciplines of Dressage and Cross Country.

Currently a regular on the European circuit representing Great Britain, Mark also runs a successful breeding programme which has in recent years, produced horses who have won the 4 and 6-year-old championships at Hickstead. As well as this, Mark has also produced and owned Grand Prix Dressage horses.

Mark is now the owner of Blackwater Equestrian in Hampshire and is excited to be bringing on the next generation of competitive young riders.
